I've moved the camera around some cause I wasn't getting anything in back, but we've also had a major cold snap, so wildlife activity has been down, and I was afraid the camera may have frozen. Got lots of pics and video in front, of cars going by and people on the sidewalk, so put in back again, lower to the ground. Now getting good pics and video - squirrels, birds, and a coyote. Good quality.
Original: Just got this 2 days ago. Easy setup, downloaded the app and connected to my cell phone easily.
Mounted it to gazebo frame in the back yard initially. It took some photos of the yard overnight, but no wildlife in them. We have deer, elk, coyotes, bobcats, raccoons, rabbits, squirrels, and lots of birds including great horned owls and red-tailed hawks in the area, and all except the deer and elk have been in our back yard. Last week we got up one morning and saw enough coyote and maybe bobcat tracks in the snow that it looked like they had a major dance party in our yard - which is why I bought this camera. The deer and elk stay outside the back fence line, which is only about 30 feet out from the house. The camera does not trigger on birds, even on high sensitivity. Moved it up to our deck today looking down at the back yard (about 11 feet above ground level), and it triggered on me walking out there and took some video. However, we just had 2 deer grazing just outside our fence (still daylight) about 10 feet further out from the camera than I was in the yard earlier, and the camera did not trigger on them - set on high sensitivity. Not sure if manufacturer's definition of sensitivity (high, med, low) is the same as what I think they mean. Can't find any info on what the trigger sensitivity parameters (distance, target size, movement speed) should be for each setting. Still working on figuring out what it can really do....
