Grainy but thick and works as intended

Grainy but thick and works as intended
These wool wicks were much thicker than I expected. The length is great which limits a lot of cutting. I was able to cut a straight line strip out to use in my tabletop alcohol fire pit. Because these are so thick, I had to not only cut it in strips but also reduce the bulk by half. That wasn't hard to do though. I just divided the height in half by pulling the fabric apart. I probably could have divided the height into thirds but I went with halves for my first cut and use. The fabric was easy to cut with scissors although the fabric felt grainy to me. So when cutting, it leaves little particles behind. I'm pleased with these though. They will last me a while. I haven't noticed any difference in how my table pit burns when comparing these with my original fire-retardant cloth. It’s a good deal.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
One of my favorite finds this season is my little indoor firepit. Having a smoke-free indoor fire is cozy and romantic. I use bioethanol fuel, which can be a little pricey. These ceramic wool wicks increase efficiency and enable the fire to last longer with less fuel. I insert the cut wick into my firepit and add enough bioethanol fuel to thoroughly soak the wick and cover about 0.5” of the bottom (see picture). With this amount, the fire lasts 30+ minutes, which is plenty of time for smores! Even though it is a small fire, it puts out a lot of heat. The pictures do not do the flames justice!

The wool wick sheets are 2” thick, so it would be hard, but not impossible, to cut the wick with normal scissors. Fortunately, I have heavy-duty scissors, which work well. The wick lasts for 7+ burns. To make the wick last longer, let the fire burn out on its own, and store the firepit with wick in it in a dry and dark environment. Don’t let the wick get damp or wet with water; if your firepit is stored outside, keep the wick covered and protected. I only need 2.5x2.5” piece of wick for my tabletop firepit, so these 12x8” wicks will last me a long time.

I have a tiny table top fire pit. I will have to cut this to use but there is so much of it that I don't think I will ever need to purchase this again! LOL

I'm using this for my tabletop ethanol pit. They are about 1 inch thick and it was easy to cut it to the right size. They are working well, better than the wick that came with the fire pit. I have nothing to complain about these wool wicks.

Easy to cut to shape. I'll cut a bit smaller than needed. It is very thick so it will not fold easily if too big.
I poured the alcohol on to it and let it soak for a minute, then lit.
Surface carbonized slightly but nothing to be concerned about. I bet it will last multiple burns befor needing replacement.
I belive this is much safer than just pouring the alcohol into the pit cavity.

I use this in my mini fire pit. I only cut out a little square so so far it has last me three weeks and I have used my mini pit several days each week. It holds a flame when paired with isopropyl solution. I recommend getting this just to stretch your solution and keep a steady fire.
