One critical piece of advice (for you) that will make the installation smoother (than mine) is to ensure compatibility with steering wheel controls before attempting any cable placement. As for Android Auto (which I have always hated - it just limits you while you are driving), I found no need for it and disabled it both on the radio and my phone, preferring Bluetooth phone connectivity for calls.
The Qualcomm Android 11 Car Radio functions like a versatile Android tablet, allowing a split screen (if you choose so) for running and viewing multiple apps simultaneously - perfect for a passenger watching a movie. At the same time, use the preferred navigation app. (OR whatever you choose to view.) You can't watch movies in full screen anyway - it's not like you can turn the screen sideways ;)
The only hiccup I encountered was the absence of a cable for the factory backup camera. I plan to reach out to support for this, as I'd like to use the app even when not in reverse. The multitude of cables provided did not include this specific one. I also need to verify how to control the physical button colors.
Navigating the various options took some time, but the result was a radio tailored to my preferences. I customized the look and feel, settling on the contemporary tablet mode.
In terms of audio, I had a moment of static with the radio input, which was quickly rectified by using the steering radio controls to switch to "AUX." I was very skeptical buying something like this for my truck, though now I am very glad I bit the bullet and did. This is a very clean and very smooth head unit. The install took me about 45 minutes which was relieving because I’m not very knowledgeable with wiring. (It’s all plug & play.) Do not hesitate with purchasing this unit.
I was concerned with certain things that weren’t mentioned in previous reviews so I’ll mention them below.
-It works fine with the Bose sound system.
-You can take off the little robot on the screen.
-You can change the background & ambient lighting.
-There is no startup screen, it goes right to the Home Screen.
-the unit comes with panel pry tools so you won’t have to purchase your own.
-everything regarding sound and quality is completely OEM. Nothing about your truck changes except the head unit.

I have been having problems playing music from my phone to the new screen unit. Tech support just sent me an email saying, We could not duplicate the problem here so you are on your own!!!
I am going to try and return the unit but I am 6 days past the return time. I would not recommend this unit any longer. It's a boat anchor to me at this point.
I was a bit intimidated about taking my truck dash apart but, I dove in following the video the seller recommends you watch. It's a bit hard to understand the guy in the video so I kept pausing and continues when I was ready for next steps. Bottom line, once I had my phone programmed per the instruction and configured the unit correctly with help from the help desk, Nick was great!!! He is in a different time zone sovI would email him questions, he would respond every night. Once I was up late and we did get a chance to exchange quick emails. Needless to say, the new screen is perfect. I just love the internet and it connects to my onstar wifi. I love it.....give the help desk time to answer your questions, they ate very friendly and know exactly how to help you!! Thanks again Nick

The opportunities:
aftermarket subs don't work when Bluetoothed to both the truck and the tablet - disconnected from unit and they work but can't use the unit to adjust them
No RCA outputs - requires to run a LOC from the bose amp or door speakers
No remote wire - have to tap into another wire in the door or off bose amp to get power to aftermarket amp.
Overall it changes the inside on my 2015 gmc2500 and makes it feel more modern and the screen size is awesome when using gps.

aftermarket subs don't work when Bluetoothed to both the truck and the tablet - disconnected from unit and they work but can't use the unit to adjust them
No RCA outputs - requires to run a LOC from the bose amp or door speakers
No remote wire - have to tap into another wire in the door or off bose amp to get power to aftermarket amp.
Overall it changes the inside on my 2015 gmc2500 and makes it feel more modern and the screen size is awesome when using gps.
