Product Description
Quality Bone
Our high quality bone saddles last a long time and produce excellent tone. Inexpensive, lower quality saddles are often overly porous and whitened with harsh chemicals, resulting in weak bone that does not last and produces poor tone.

We help you find the right saddle – length, height, thickness, radius, and compensation for your specific guitar.
Unbleached Bone Guitar Saddle
Fits Many Newer Yamaha Guitars with Undersaddle Pickup
This unbleached bone saddle will fit many newer Yamaha steel string acoustic guitars as a replacement or upgrade. This bridge saddle is compensated for improved intonation.
Height is set at one mm lower than our standard Yamaha-style saddle height to account for the undersaddle pickup thickness.
Please note that each guitar is slightly different and your bone saddle may need adjustments to the height, length, or thickness, which you can do with the included sandpaper.

I learned the hard way that modern Yamaha Acoustic guitar saddles tend to run longer than most other manufacturers, so the saddle I bought that "looked about right" was an inch or two short. I came across this saddle when looking for a Graph Tech Tusq, and decided to go with this instead.
Preparing the saddle is tedious work, first I noticed that the new one was both a little thicker and longer than the original, so I got to work sanding using the included (rather small, but nice grit) sandpaper. Eventually I got a good shape on it, and can get it in the slot. Another 20-30 min of sanding, the new saddle was almost the exact size as the stock.
**Tip: make sure you clean the bone dust off the sandpaper, or else you will barely make any progress when it cakes on.**
I am still in the process of sanding it down a bit, then tuning up and checking my action. It is tedious work, but it's the best way to ensure you have a low enough action, and lessen the chances of sanding past the point of no return and stuck with permanent buzz on the saddle.
Let me tell you I can already hear the difference, and the plastic sounded great as it was. The warm sound fills the entire guitar cavity and you can actually feel it resonating. Beautiful! This is still having the stock plastic nut, as well. My dreadnaught fills the whole house with sound now, I won't even need an amp for smaller venues.
Definitely recommend going through the process yourself, it is not very difficult as long as you take it slowly and compare to the original. You'll save money and feel like you have a brand new guitar!!

I am a beginner and don't have very developed ears to know the subtle differences in sound but I do feel that the guitar sounds louder and better with the bone saddle. It might be just in my head :)
