I must have about 8 or 9 glue guns other than this one. Most use large sticks.
I have 2-3 cheap corded mini stick guns that work very well but take longer to heat up than this one.
I have one usb rechargeable mini stick gun that works well but is slower to heat than this one. The battery is built-in so if it is out of charge from infrequent use then it is not very useable.
This one may be my goto for most jobs now.
1. It uses my Dewalt batteries that get enough use so at least one is guaranteed to be charged.
2. It heats faster than the larger stick guns and mini stick guns I have. So this is my quickest gun to heat now.
3. It is small, but not too small.
4. I don't mind cords much, but storage is more compact and neater without a cord.
Cons for some but not for me. It is heavier than corded guns.
I think this glue gun is ideal for the person or project that takes 1 to 30 minutes to complete.
I think corded guns would work better for people that have jobs/tasks/projects that are at a desk/table of some sort and take more time, like 10 minutes or even several hours. Most larger guns have heat settings that really help for extended tasks. Small/mini guns may have heat settings but I have never seen them, but I have never looked for then either.
