This book is definetely for an older child. My 9 year old didn't want to finish this book. She is an avid reader who was reading chapter books at age 5. She found this dull,as did my 11 year old. Unfortunately there are also to many words for my 4 and 5 year old.

Ultimately I believe it would be well suited to be broken up over several days for younger children or for 7-9 year olds.
