Not Craftsman/MTD branded. Thicker, but possibly shorter.
These are sold as OE Craftsman blades, but they are not. They are not stamped like my originals, they come in a generic, plain brown box. They have reconfigured the stupid, screw the customer, overpriced, ridiculous "S" shaped hole format. They appear to be aftermarket, made by Arnold. But... they are thicker. So that's a plus. But they seem to be a little shorter because after mowing, I now have a little strip of grass sticking up. I bought a Craftsman Z5800 mower last summer and it cut the grass perfectly. But I (not intentionally) mow a lot of driveway rocks and above ground tree roots, so the original blades only lasted one season. Now, with these new blades, the mower isn't cutting perfectly anymore.My old Husqvarna 54 mower, with the usual star shaped hole and reasonably priced blades, those blades lasted for several reasons! My old Husqvarna 54 mower, with the usual star shaped hole and reasonably priced blades, those blades lasted for several reasons! So hopefully these blades turn out to be longer lasting than the OE blades, even if they don't seem to cut as perfectly.
