I used the washers as spacers to make sure the wheel did not touch the assembly and rub.
I have been traveling by air since 1964 the suitcase I have now is the best I ever had with the exception of the poor quality wheels that it came with from the factory .
Now I have what I believe to be the best suitcase ever after the installation of these wheels.
