The author skillfully invites extroverts to better understand their introverted colleagues, and encourages introverts to embrace their identity as something positive, not a flaw. She focuses the reader’s attention by sticking to the 4 P’s process throughout the book, giving practical steps on how to be more successful as an introverted leader. This book should be read by all people, not just leaders. A very worthwhile work!

I bought this for a friend and they seemed to like it. It has a lot of good information for introverted individuals who are trying to build their business or excel in the workplace. It was the best one that I saw out of a few choices.

I’m new to the official leadership role. I also recently learned that my personality type is INFJ according to the myer Briggs personality test. In my new role as a team leader I’ve found it difficult to speak up in meets and I’m usually lost because I never know before hand what they are about. I assume they expect me to figure it out after a while, but my brain doesn’t work like that. It’s better for me to know the topic before hand so that I can do some research and be prepared. This book has shown me how to convey that process to my manager, among many other things. I now have a guide on how to lead my own meetings, how to prep to speak in front of the big managers and even how to go about communicating with other leaders or managers who don’t understand my introverted personality. I will recommend this book to any introvert who is in or wants to be in leadership.

This is a review for the audiobook version. I listened to about 1 hour of the book, but couldn’t continue. Not because of the content but the way that the audiobook is presented. In fact, I will buy a hard copy of the book as I think it will be a useful reference. Which is where the audiobook falls short. Essentially, like most audiobooks the production team has recorded a reading of the book. But it is too disjointed, with too many subheadings that disrupt the flow of the book. What was actually needed was a separate audiobook version that flowed for the listener. More like a pod cast.

The key strength of "The Introverted Leader" is its real-world applicability, particularly in the business/organizational context.

Author Jennifer Kahnweiler -- who says she's an extrovert but certainly seems to grasp where the typical introvert's head is -- uses a practical model she calls "The 4 P's Process" (Prepare, Presence, Push, Practice) to frame her guidance in the book's various chapters. She offers specific tips and concrete examples throughout that speak to what introverts so often wrestle with in leadership roles.

I especially appreciated two portions of the book in particular:

1) The part entitled "Naming the Challenges" where Jennifer identifies and then describes the TRUE challenges introverted leaders might face:

* People exhaustion
* A fast pace
* Getting interrupted
* Pressure to self-promote
* An emphasis on teams
* Negative impressions

2) The chapter on "Delivering Powerful Presentations" that says preparing for presentations as an introvert involves more than preparing your material; it involves preparing YOURSELF, too.

If you're an introvert and you're either in a leadership role now or you see yourself pursuing a leadership role of some kind in the future (be it at work or in some other part of your life), "The Introverted Leader" will help you succeed -- your own way.

The book gives us a good understanding (and should I say acceptance) of what it is like to be an intravert leader, and ways to act in different situations. Good exercises included.
The book arrived with damages. Not sure if it is because of the transport or delivery. A bit dissapointed
