We started using the strategies in this book immediately upon arrival. Within 2 days it has changed the behavior of our 4.5 year old with mild autism. We simply made the Start / Stop behaviors and Rewards visual (with just Clip Art) for her rather than written words. For points we made chips for her to post on a board with velcro - again a visual of her tallies rather than just written numbers. When she wants a reward she simply pulls the chips off the board to "pay" for them. She loves it and it is helping us teach math concepts to her as well.

I have been very happy with the Behavior Management program. The concept is so simple, but the difference for me was to have the charts already made up and a SHORT booklet to explain how the program works. I didn't have to wade through hundreds of pages to get to the nuts and bolts - I have done that too many times to count. It has really made a difference in my childs behavior.

These are perfect for showing off good behavior and letting them see that there are consequences for bad behavior to improve upon. My 7 year old loves this, we have edited the rules a bit because he is a saver but he saves for expensive toys like Lego sets and rc toys. The boy is 7 and he already wants to save for a car!

While this book does lay out some fundamental rules needed for an at home behavior system, I prefer the one described at [...] in that it is more fun and creative.
