Our boxes are made with pride in our own facility here at HifiSoundConnection. They are constructed with the highest quality MDF that meets our rigid standards. Unlike our competitors we do not use pressed cardboard or rice wood materials from overseas. Using top quality MDF makes the enclosure much more rigid and gives your subwoofer a great platform to perform at it's best. This makes our boxes a little more expensive but you truly do get what you pay for.

The cut outs were barely at 9 inches and I have 4 different sets of 10 inch subs none of which would fit this box so I had to cut the holes to fit my 10 inch subs and there was no space between them at all and the subs hang over the edge slightly now I have to add braces inside to sturdy it up because there only a tiny sliver of wood between the 2 speakers like the box was made for 8 inch subs but they made the holes closer to 9 inches (by accident or on purpose) and sold it as a 10 inch enclosure, so I guess you get what you pay for, if you want to save a few bucks and then put in some work to make it work go for it... sure glad I had the tools and the knowhow. Carpets nice on it

This enclosure fit the two JL Audio 10WXv2 subs I put in, with a mounting depth of 4 13/16", though it was close. I calculated by the box dimensions and the fact they have a cutout around the magnets that deeper subs than 4 1/4" should fit, and they did. But I would not go deeper than that since it was pretty close to hitting the back. Furthermore the JL subs had a recommended sealed volume of 0.6 cubic feet, which was a better match than the package deal with the Kicker subs (also on Amazon). I also filed the enclosure with poly fill to increase the effective enclosure volume.

For sound quality, I am pretty happy so far. This setup replaced a 8" bazooka sub in the back (very annoying taking up almost half the back), and it sounds much different as far as frequency response given it sealed versus the ported bazooka. It hits way harder than the bazooka and had to turn down the amp gain. I am running a 250-300 watt MTX mono amp.

The box itself works fine, but there's a few major flaws:

- First of all, they used actual MDF for the enclosure walls, but they "cheated" the subwoofer depth by completely cutting out two squares from just behind where the subwoofer magnet would go - only to cover it up with a thin 1/4" piece of wood from the outside. So the entire box is made of thick MDF but then you have two large squares that only have 1/4 the wall thickness, giving the enclosure a pair of weak points that also ironically are directly behind the two subwoofers. Either this is a bad shortcut or a cheater way to claim more mounting depth... neither of which are good.

- Second, it doesn't fit centered under the rear seats - the box sits a little over 1" off to the right side of the vehicle. There's one specific corner of the box that hits the center tunnel area of the vehicle floor, and there's no way to fix it aside from chopping the corner off and re-sealing it somehow. Considering the Nissan Frontier has been around since 2005, you would have thought that they would correct the fitment issue by now, right? Maybe not.

- Finally, the carpet they used is probably the thinnest carpet I've ever seen on a speaker box. I can already imagine it will wear down fast, so much that I'm planning to just cover the box with some thicker carpet already just to keep back seat passengers from scratching their legs on the sharp wooden corners that would be exposed as soon as the carpet wears out.

So if you have a Nissan Frontier, your prefab sub box choices are limited, if you choose this type of box design (also sold under "Q-Power" and other names) at least now you know what to expect. I did give it 2 stars because it does put out some decent bass with my JL subs, but it could have been so much better if they just built it the right way.
