A source of solace and a healing resource for those who are facing illness, as well as those who care for them.

For centuries, people have turned to the Book of Psalms for solace, comfort and catharsis, seeking guidance, meaning, hope and reassurance―in short, spiritual healing.

This book is intended to help you―struggling with illness or helping someone who is―derive spiritual healing from Psalms. In the late 18th century, Rabbi Nachman of Breslov designated ten of the 150 entries in the Book of Psalms as "healing psalms," and we present these ten to you, newly translated, for your personal exploration and expression.

"Acknowledging that the Biblical Psalms can be somewhat alien to many people, we asked ten spiritual leaders to provide a bridge, a form of access, to these ancient poems of pain and praise, of humility and hope."

I never cease to be amazed at the beauty and simplicity of wisdom culled from Jewish commentary on scripture, and this book is no exception. Taking the 10 Psalms determined by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov in the 18th century to be "healing Psalms," these observations cut right to the heart of key spiritual components often overlooked or easily disregarded in the midst of sickness and pain. They are a wonderful tool that can be used both collectively or individually and are great for meditative practice when faced with either physical or emotional distress. Simple, concise, insightful!

Total Healing to the Limits of Living: A Sourcebook for Awakening and Engaging the Healing Energies of the Tree of Life
The variety of translations of the ten psalms of Reb Nachman's Tikkun HaKlali, along with inspired interpretations bring these psalms into bold relief. They become even more meaningful when we believe that these psalms can truly heal the world. They take us to a past when we were all connected.

This book arrived on time and in great condition. The book itself is inspiring. Reading the psalms is one thing but having others' interpretations adds to the impact of the beautiful verses.

Rabbi Simkha Weintraub's book offers a remarkable window into the world of healing Psalms. Gentle, forthright, spiritual and practical, each of the commentators discovers the message of the Psalm for today's contemporary reader. Simultaneously uplifting, thoughtful, and inspiring, it is a living text for Jews and non-Jews, those who are living with pain and illness and those who love them. Easily accessible, it is a companion for anyone who seeks comfort and guidance to deal with life's most challenging moments. It is a beautiful book and testimony to the enduring human spirit and wisdom of the ancient words of tradition.

Surgery left me hardly able to speak but also more contemplative. This little book has been a pleasure to read and re-read. As the cover proclaims "Unfold the strength and solace in Psalms". Rabbi Weintraub's "How to Read This Book" (how to make each Psalm your own) is wise. Be sure to read it more than once. Speech is slowly returning, yet I expect to turn to this little book from time to time.
