I was asked to use this book in a Government class I teach as part of a new textbook adoption. The book is extremely biased in favor of a narrow "right wing" view of American governance. Without going into too much detail here are some choice passages:

- They (communists) are Atheists that deny the existence of God and try to destroy traditional religious beliefs. (pg 28 3rd edition)

- "Moses handed down God's Ten Commandments to the Hebrews" (pg 67 3rd edition) Moses is listed on a page ABOVE John Locke, Montesquieu and Blackstone who...I feel the need to point out...are real figures in American/European history

- "Americans have reached a consensus that government has grown too large, too costly and too intrusive." (Pg 339 3rd edition)...this is just an outright falsehood

The book is loaded with more that would take me hours to repeat...I don't know where Sanford earned his PhD but they should seriously considering distancing themselves from him.
