I had this book recommended to me by a GM Automotive Powertrain engineer. As an engineer on the Dallas Formula Racing team, I carry this book with me everywhere I go. It's like the internal combustion engine bible. If you are designing anything having to do with internal combustion engines or their accessories- this is the best go to book.

P.S. The indian edition is the exact same as all the others, just cheaper

Okay. So I ordered this book for technical purposes because I'm an M.E. major with a concentration in Automotive. I haven't actually read that much of it, but from what I have read, it's WORTH EVERY PENNY. However, if you're going to buy this, know that it is both expensive and DENSE material. You will read a little, have a bunch of questions, embark on a journey to get most of them answered and have some epiphany about what you've read, and then get back to the material where you left off and repeat the process. I don't know how else to describe how to digest it. I have a copious number of expert professors at my university, so I don't have a problem with that, but for the reader who doesn't, maybe a simpler book would be better.

I bought this book because it was recommended by my professor for POWER TRAIN subject ...

The book have alot of informations but sometimes it used more complicated paths to solve easythings. also after well reading for the chapter and understand all the theorys, equations and even equations direvatives , you still wouldn't be able to solve the given problems at the end of the chapter... many questions are missing some informations that you should assume (then how are you gonna get the right answer for cheking purposes)

This book is a deep dive into the world of IC engines, very appropriate for a college level IC Engines course. That is precisely why I bought it. I'm a mechanical engineer, but never took that course. This is a great reference and education book for the committed gear head engineer. It's way above the Popular Mechanics level, perhaps even too much so, as it doesn't refer that often to current commercial engine technology. You've got to be a little weird to buy this book for entertainment, but it satisfies the advanced curiosity for the technology of engines.

I was glad to find that there was a paperback version of this book available, I seem to remember it was the most expensive book I purchased while in college. The format is a bit dated but otherwise its a great book and is/was considered to be the best internal combustion engine text on the market back in the day.
The book does get complicated, but you can still get a lot out of it even if you are not overly quantitative. The book was previously used for graduate level engineering courses at MIT, so the quantitative part is pretty involved too.

Heywoods Internal Combustion Engine Fundamentals ist das Standardwerk für Motoren im Englisch Sprachigen Raum. Es dient in vielen Dissertationen als Quelle. Teilweise detailreichere und tiefer gehende Erklärungen als in deutschen Büchern.
Ich habe mir das Buch für meine Masterarbeit gekauft und bin sehr zufrieden. Es ist zwar schon älter, kann aber immer noch mit aktuellen Büchern mithalten.
Habe das Buch gebraucht über Amazon gekauft. Bis auf 1/4 fehlender Seite top.
Würde ich wieder kaufen.
